🎧STEP 3: Headphones Set Up

1. Grab a hearback mixer. They're usually in the control room or scattered around the tracking room.

   

2. Connect it to the floor panel using an ethernet cable (these can be found on and behind the microphone cabinet).

   

3. Attach the hearback to a Microphone stand.

   

4. Plug in Headphones (typically scattered around the studio) into the bottom right jacks.

   

5. On Ableton, Click the 'Master' drop down menu and select 'Ext. Out' for both audio tracks.

   

   Next, click the '1/2' drop down menu underneath and select '17/18' (possibly 19'/20' in other daws) for both audio tracks.

6. Create a 'Return' track by pressing 'Command'+'Option'+'T.' It should show up here:

   

7. Click on the third '-inf' box for each track and drag up until it reads '0.'

   

   Now We're Ready to Set Levels and Get Recording!
